Published 'Meditations on First Philosophy' (1641)

Why he might be annoying:

In 1647, he ridiculed Blaise Pascal's theory on the vacuum, when Pascal proved it a year later, Descates claimed he gave Pascal the idea.
From about age ten, he never rose before 11 A.M., citing his poor health.
As he was ready to publish a book on Physics, 'Le Monde, ou Traité de la Lumière,' he didn't.
Word reached him that Galileo Galilei was under house arrest for publishing his scientific work, so it was not published until after his death.
Some of his claims have been proven wrong, simply because he failed to conduct simple experiments.
He stated that boiled water freezes quicker, this is not true.

Why he might not be annoying:

He entered college (La Fléche) at 8 years old (1604).
He travelled throughout Europe, studying with the great minds of that time.
He settled in Holland (1628).
He believed that only math was a certainty and thus all things should be based on math.
Queen Christina of Sweden persuaded Descartes to move to Sweden and break his habit of rising at 11 A.M.
After a few months of rising and being at the Swedish Palace at 5 AM, he died of pneumonia (1649).
