Why he might be annoying:

    He was the Facts of Life’s version of Cousin Oliver (the new kid added to a series after the kids from the original cast have aged out of being cute).
    He was accepted to Johns Hopkins University but did not enroll.
    During the production of ‘The Evening Star,’ he lost the top part of his ear in a car accident and to be outfitted with a prosthetic attachment for the remainder of filming.
    He said he had an ‘extended adolescence’ that lasted into his 30s.
    At one point, he was drinking eight to ten Guinnesses a night and snorting cocaine.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He won a Young Artists Award as Best Young Supporting Actor in a TV Series for ‘The Facts of Life’ (1986).
    After ‘The Facts of Life Ended,’ he temporarily quit acting to go to high school full-time. (‘I’d learned from my mother’s experience that being a child actor can sometimes rob you of your childhood.’)
    He was roommates with Dominic Monaghan.
    He had a successful stint in rehab. (And noted, ‘I was lucky to be out of the limelight enough that it was not news.’)
    He said about his relationship with Sean, ‘There is a healthy fraternal rivalry, but nothing serious.’
