He charged up to $40,000 for public speaking engagements.

Why he might not be annoying:

He worked tirelessly to establish FUBU, and earned the reputation of being a guerilla marketing genius.
The earliest FUBU products came from a 'factory' he set up in his mother's house.
He earned numerous awards, including the NAACP Award for Entrepreneur of the Year.
He became a go-to brand strategist.
He said he didn't want to promote companies that we're harmful to people, so, he wouldn't work for a tobacco company (for example).
