    Birth name is Hansruedi Giger
    Designed the Aliens in 'Alien' and 'Species'
    Most of his work is published in the book series 'Necronomicon' and is on display in his museum in Gruyeres, Switzerland

Why he might be annoying:

    He went by the pretentious single initials.
    Much of the work he did for films was either never used ('Dune') or unsatisfactory ('Poltergeist II').
    He was not asked to work on 'Aliens.'

Why he might not be annoying:

    Director Ridley Scott was so impressed by 'Necronomicon,' that he wanted him to design the creature in 'Alien.'
    In 1980, he won an Oscar for his work in 'Alien.'
    He designed an album cover for Danzig and a microphone stand for Jonathan Davis.
    He beat the odds and became a successful artist.
