Best known for his role as Vice Principal Michael Woodman on 'Welcome Back, Kotter' (1975-79)
Also portrayed Keith Barron on the TV soap 'Search For Tomorrow' (1951-52)
Died of pancreatic cancer at age 68

Why he might be annoying:

He had a look like he sucked on an 'all day lemon.'
His acting career stalled for 20 years between 1952 and 1972.
He was so short when his Woodman character went to yell at the Barbarino or Washington characters in 'Welcome Back, Kotter' he couldn't make eye contact for emphasis.
Throughout his TV career he was typecast as stiff, no nonsense and hothead figures.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was steadily employed in TV for 11 years (1972-83).
Unlike the characters he portrayed, he had a lively sense of humor and offered suggestions for put downs Kotter and his Sweathogs used against him, including when Barbarino referred to him as a 'snow-capped leprechaun.'
His tirades on 'Kotter' were memorable classics.
He invested his money wisely and retired to Waikiki, Hawaii at age 63, dying five years later of cancer.
