He is the most obscure member of Velvet Revolver.
He looks like a pissed off version of The Edge.
He has left many bands after just one album.
Even though he has been a musician since the mid 1980's, it took him until 2002 to be noticed.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is good friends with Slash, which helped him get the job in Velvet Revolver.
Along with guitar, he is also a good bass player.
In 2001, he was the musical director for Dave Navarro's touring band.
In 2002, he met Duff McKagan while touring in Japan.
The two became good friends during the tour.
