The Resume

    (June 9, 1943- )
    Born in Baghdad, Iraq
    Advertising executive and art collector
With his brother Maurice, founded the ad agencies Saatchi & Saatchi (1970) and M&C Saatchi (1995)

Why he might be annoying:

'The Guardian' described his appearance as 'a premonition of what David Schwimmer will look like at 63.'
He hired a dozen people off the street to pose as employees to make Saatchi & Saatchi look larger to an early potential client.
He rarely gives interviews, saying 'One of the things that makes my flesh crawl is reading about myself.'
He paid £50,000 for Damien Hirst's dead shark and £150,000 for Tracey Emin's unmade bed.
Peter Blake said, 'He has become a malign influence by building up some artists and leaving others as victims.'
He was divorced from his first two wives.
He was photographed in a restaurant with his hand around the throat of his third wife, Nigella Lawson.
He claimed the incident was a 'playful tiff,' but he later accepted a police caution for assault (June 18, 2013).

Why he might not be annoying:

When he was four, his family fled Iraq for Britain to avoid antisemitic persecution.
When he was 17, he had a 'life-changing' experience viewing a Jackson Pollock painting at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
He was known for his innovative advertising campaigns.
By 1986, Saatchi & Saatchi had grown into the largest ad agency in the world.
Tate Gallery Director Nicholas Serota said that he 'supported a whole generation of artists almost single-handedly.'
He donated the Saatchi Gallery and over 200 works of art to the British public (July 2010).
