    Appeared in the films ‘I Married an Angel’ (1942), ‘Step Lively’ (1944), ‘Dillinger’ (1945), ‘Zombies on Broadway’ (1945), ‘Dick Tracy’ (1945), ‘Dick Tracy Vs. Cueball’ (1946), ‘Riffraff’ (1947), Return of the Bad Men’ (1948), ‘Boys Night Out’ (1962),’Panic in the City’ (1968), ‘Clifford’ (1994), and ‘Richard III’ (2008)
    Appeared on Broadway in ‘My Romance’ (1948-49) and ‘Kiss Me Kate’ (1950-51)

Why she might be annoying:

    She said her mother not only managed her career, she picked out her husband, actor Robert Sterling.
    She and Sterling attempted to recreate their ‘Topper’ success by costarring in ‘Love That Jill,’ but the series was cancelled after three months (1958).
    She portrayed David Hasselhoff’s mom on ‘Baywatch.’

Why she might not be annoying:

    She joined the New York Municipal Opera Company in her teens, appearing at Carnegie Hall in productions of ‘La Boheme,’ ‘La Traviata,’ and ‘Pagliacci.’
    She starred in the premiere performance of Kurt Weill’s ‘American opera’ ‘Street Scene.’ (1947)
    She was the last person to dance onscreen with Fred Astaire, in an episode of Battlestar Galactica.
    She and Sterling were married for 54 years until his death, so her mother seems to have known what she was doing as a matchmaker.
