The Resume

    (1923- )
Group composed of a Male Choir, an Orchestra, and Dance group
Directed by Alexander Alexandrov (1923-1946), Boris Alexandrov (1946-1986) and Leonid Malev (1986- )

Why they might be annoying:

They were a major symbol of Soviet propaganda.
Since the fall of communist Russia, the existence of the group has been debated heavily.
They traveled the front lines with the Soviet Union during WW II (put down the oboe and pick up a rifle you sissy).
Due to the fact that the choir is made up of only tenor males, they have a masculine, domineering sound that could be quite intimidating.

Why they might not be annoying:

They stood the test of time, beginning when Stalin ruled to still performing today.
Vladimir Putin is particularly supportive of the group.
They were originally meant to entertain the Soviet troops but then went onto doing tours and performing for Pope John Paul II.
It grew from just 12 members to about 200 with its own orchestra and dance group.
Their songs vary from Russian folk, Church hymns, Pop, and most notably the Soviet National Anthem.
