Why Egypt might be annoying:

    The people suffer droughts, wind/dust/sand storms and frequent earthquakes.
    Cleopatra, at twenty-one, courted fifty-four year old Caesar.
    IT has the largest group of people advertising for mates in the newspapers.
    Ancient Egyptians worshipped the snake, the reason is that the snakes zig-zag pattern looked like lightning.
    The people enslaved the Jews for 400 years until Moses freed them.
    Its government started and lost many wars with Israel (1948, 56, 67, 73).
    President Anwar Sadat was assassinated.
    About 1/3 of the women are literate and 2/3 of the men.
    Every so often they merge with Syria to form the United Arab Republic.
    Mohammed Hosni Mubarak has been president for over twenty years (since October 14, 1981).
    The people suffer high inflation and large population growth.
    Asian heroin and opium for Europe and the US move through Egypt.
    The people love their hashish.
    From 332 BC, many came and conquered Egypt including Romans, Persians, Arabs, Turks, France under Napoleon and eventually the British.

Why Egypt might not be annoying:

    It has the oldest western civilization (other than Mesopotamia), going back to 4,000 BC.
    The Pharaohs ruled Egypt from 3200 BC until 332 BC, when Alexander the Great conquered Egypt.
    It took twenty years to build the great pyramid.
    It was estimated that if the Great Pyramid was built in 1975, it would cost 1.12 billion to construct.
    Egyptian vultures crack open Ostrich eggs by dropping rocks on them.
    The people invented hypnotism (300 BC).
    Fragrances that were sealed in tombs 5,000 years ago, still give off an aroma.
    The greeting card originated here (600 BC).
    The people invented embalming.
    A loaf of bread at least 4,000 years old is in a Cairo museum.
    It was the first arab country to sign a peace accord with Israel (Camp David Accord).
    It controls the Suez Canal.
    It allied with the U.S. in the gulf war against Iraq.
    It attracts tourists with its pyramids, sphinx and ancient tombs.
    Archeological digs are very common and many treasures have been unearthed.
    King Tut's tomb was found there.
