He smokes.
He was a heavy drinker.
He claimed the only reason he joined Black Sabbath was because he needed the money.
He left Black Sabbath because he claimed he was having problems with his vocal chords, but a few short weeks later, he rejoined Deep Purple.
He was kicked out of Deep Purple twice.
He is the main reason Ritchie Blackmore quit the band.

Why he might not be annoying:

He admits to being the worst singer Black Sabbath ever had.
He sang as Jesus Christ on the original version of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' in 1970.
He is an influential British rock vocalist.
He was presented with the Medal of Honor from the Armenian President for his support after an earthquake which took place in Armenia in December 1988.
