Why he might be annoying
He got his start by hosting a children's television show.
He learned kung fu from old chop socky movies.
Most of his movies use a lot of Cantonese verbal wordplay, which doesn't translate well into English.
Nearly all of the characters he plays are named after him: 'Sing.'
He employs the good ol' boy technique by using the same circle of personal friends in most of his films.
He references Bruce Lee in almost every movie he makes.
Chow was denied Canadian citizenship due to rumors that he is linked to Chinese Triad gangs.

He does his own English dubbing.
He made the cover of Time Magazine in 2003 for Time's Asian Heroes special report.
Both 'Kung Fu Hustle' and 'Shaolin Soccer' are Hong Kong's highest-grossing Chinese movies of all time.
He is primary among the small number of comedic Chinese actors.
He is the third biggest Asian movie star, after Jackie Chan and Jet Li.
