Why he might be annoying
He was a journeyman player during his playing career.
He was on the ice for all five of Mario Lemieux's goals during Lemieux's five goal game, in which they were scored all five ways possible.
He was loathed by Maple Leaf fans in the years following his acquisition, after the Devils drafted Scott Niedermayer with the pick acquired by the Leafs.
He was considered one of the first players to lose his spot on an NHL roster, following the demise of the Iron Curtain.
He failed to improve his defensive game, no matter how hard his coaches tried to work with him.
Why he might not be annoying
He earned the Hobey Baker Award as the top college player, while attending the University of Minnesota-Duluth (1984).
He earned a Stanley Cup ring as a member of the Canadiens (1986).
He excelled as a power play specialist in the NHL.
He worked one year as a broadcaster, prior to working in the player development sector.
He doesn't mind the notoriety he received as a result of being the player traded away for the Scott Niedermayer selection.
