Protégé of Stephen Ward, osteopath, possible spy and party thrower for the rich and famous
In 1962, became involved with both John Profumo, the British Secretary of State for War, and Yevgeny Ivanov, Soviet naval attaché and KGB agent

Why she might be annoying:

She worked as a topless dancer when still a teenager.
She had a creepily intense (and supposedly platonic) relationship with Ward, 30 years her senior.
Her simultaneous affairs with Profumo and Ivanov amounted to a serious breach of security.
Either Ward or Ivanov urged her to coax sensitive information out of Profumo about nuclear warheads.
Profumo was forced to resign in 1963, partially because of her indiscretion.
She spent 9 months in jail for committing perjury (in a different case).
She tried to capitalize on her notoriety with several books, one co-authored by Ivanov.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her family lived in a couple of converted railway carriages.
Her stepfather may have made a pass at her.
In the middle of the Profumo scandal, she was harassed by two thuggish admirers (one tried to shoot down her door).
She now lives quietly in London in public housing.
She was portrayed (in a rather sanitized manner) by Joanne Whaley in ‘Scandal (1989).'
She had a role in ‘Carry on Snogging (1998).'
A photo of her naked and straddling a chair became one of the best known images of the twentieth century.
