The Resume

    (June 25, 1906-February 4, 1976)
Born in Barry, Wales, United Kingdom
Best known for his roles in three Powell-Pressburger films: 'The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp' (1943), 'I Know Where I'm Going!' (1945) and 'A Matter of Life and Death' (1946)
Also appeared in the films 'The Four Feathers' (1921), 'Married Love' (1923), 'Lorna Doone' (1934), 'Rembrandt' (1936), 'The Rebel Son' (1938), 'Spies of the Air' (1940), 'That Dangerous Age' (1949), 'The Master of Ballantrae' (1953), 'The Entertainer' (1960) and 'The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders' (1965)

Why he might be annoying:

He had a twisted family tree: his mother's sister married his father's brother. Then, after the deaths of his father and his mother's sister, his mother married his father's brother.
As a result, the children from this second marriage were simultaneously his stepsiblings and his first cousins.
Keeping the family tree in knots for the next generation, he married actress Ursula Jeans, whose brother Desmond was already married to Roger's sister Maggie.
He volunteered for the Royal Air Force during World War II but was rejected because of his age.
In 'The Entertainer,' he played Laurence Olivier's father despite being only eleven months older.

Why he might not be annoying:

He and his wife entertained the troops during World War II.
Told he was too portly for the romantic lead in 'I Know Where I'm Going,' he promptly lost 20 pounds.
BBC Wales named him one of the top ten Welsh actors of all time.
