He was seldom used during his tenure on 'The Daily Show.'
He had a full ride to New York University's School of Law, but dropped out with one year left.
Critics of his feel he is a 'poor man's Mitch Hedberg.'
He appeared in music videos for the bands Travis and Fountains of Wayne.
Like the rest of the 'Daily Show' correspondents, he picketed with the Writers Guild of America during their 2007 strike.

Why he might not be annoying:

In addition to telling jokes in traditional stand-up style, he also tells jokes accompanied by an acoustic guitar, piano, or various visual aids.
He has drawn some comparisons to Steven Wright and Mitch Hedberg because of his heavy usage of dead-pan one-liners in observational comedy.
An example of his humor; 'Saying ‘I’m sorry’ is the same as saying ‘I apologize.’ Except at a funeral.'
He is good friends with Will Forte, and Forte appeared on Martin's CD.
He appeared on an episode of 'Flight of the Conchords.'
