Why he might be annoying:

    He was disqualified during the gold medal bout at the Helsinki Olympics (1952) for 'lack of effort' and his silver medal was withheld until 1982.
    He did not train hard for matches, with a routine that usually consisted of golfing in the morning, sparring in the afternoon, and dinner and dancing in the evening.
    He was married and divorced three times.
    He moved to Switzerland to avoid Swedish taxes.

Why he might not be annoying:

    His upset victory over Floyd Patterson to win the heavyweight title was described by writer Gay Talese as 'a setback for austerity, a victory for the Copacabana.'
    He started running marathons in his late 50s to keep his weight down.
    He became good friends with Patterson, with the two making joint appearances at boxing conventions until they both were incapacitated by Alzheimer's disease.
