The Resume

    Technically titled 'Extreme Unction'
Sacrament in some Christian Churches; Catholic, Orthodox, and Episcopal/Anglican churches
Ceremony during which a priest anoints a sick or dying person with oil and prays for their well-being and for them to be forgiven of their sins
Based in large part on the instructions found in The Letter of James 5:14-15

Why Last Rites might be annoying:

It can be very un-nerving for someone to have a priest standing over them saying their last rites even if they understand that it is for their own well-being.
Because it is usually known as 'The Last Rites,' many people assume that it is given only when someone is dying and all hope is gone.

Why Last Rites might not be annoying:

It's not just for people who are dying, but is for anyone who is gravely ill or injured even if they are expected to recover.
It can be very comforting for the person being prayed for and their friends and relatives.
There is probably not a religion in human history that doesn't pray for its sick and dead, which makes it (The Last Rites) a very normal human thing to do.
