Why he might be annoying:

    He admitted to knowing nothing about the National Hockey League, upon being drafted by the Capitals.
    He spent his final season in the minors, as he failed to gauge interest from other NHL clubs in free agency.
    He came under fire from the Czechoslovakian embassy, after they felt he and the Capitals skirted the rules to get him into the United States without using legal avenues.
    He was involved in a contract dispute with the Capitals, which caused him to miss the first couple weeks of the 1995-96 NHL season.
    He drew criticism from the Capitals front office, after it was revealed he lacked the leadership in the locker room, despite he was one of the team's more established players.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He risked his life when he defected out of Czechoslovakia, through way of Yugoslavia and Italy.
    He was drafted in the higher rounds of the NHL Entry Draft at a time when scouting players in the Eastern Bloc countries was rare, as a result of the communist nature.
    He excelled as a setup man for Peter Bondra during the early and mid 1990's.
    He spent his entire NHL career with the Capitals.
    He held the Capitals franchise record for most career assists, prior to Nicklas Backstrom.
