    Its town slogan is 'The One and Only Brattleboro'.
    It lost both their satellite campuses for Marlboro College Center and SIT Graduate Institute, due to the COVID-19 pandemic (2020).
    Like most of the New England region, it has extremely cold winters.
    It was predominantly a mill town during the late 1800's.
    Due to its location, it doesn't have a lot of flat terrain to build on.
    Its primary recreational greenspace, the Island Park was once washed away by flooding at the beginning of the 20th century.

Why Brattleboro, Vermont might not be annoying:

    It is located near the confluence of the Connecticut and West rivers.
    It is home to The Gothic Revival Municipal Center, which is located in the old Brattleboro High School building.
    British author Rudyard Kipling immigrated to the town in the late 1800's and wrote most of his well known materials here.
    It is considered a touristic gateway into the state of Vermont.
    It became the second community in the United States to be recognized as a Fair Trade Town (2007).
