Why he might be annoying:

When he spoke, he sounded like he never drank any water.
He was dubbed ‘Long’ because he stood 6’7, or just over 2 m.
He settled in Vancouver, British Columbia, after a brief period divided between New York and Los Angeles.
‘Don’t Try to Lay No Boogie Woogie on the King of Rock & Roll’ made only a minor impact on the North American market. It was enough.
Ironically, while Eric Clapton and Rod Stewart are among the many who cite him as a major inspiration, he himself never achieved the international superstar status they did.
This is regarded as the most likely reason he became a Canadian citizen (1980).

Why he might not be annoying:

When he sang, his voice was deep and rich, perfectly suited to the genre.
He was credited with recording the first blues album by a British artist (1962).
He provided character voices for such animated programs as ‘Reboot’ and ‘Sonic the Hedgehog.’
His remake of ‘You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling’ was so successful, he had his duet partner join his touring group as a regular.
The stage name Elton John is a partial homage to him.

He spent nearly 50 years in the business.
