The Resume

    (September 12, 1852-February 15, 1928)
Born in Morley, West Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom
Birth name was Herbert Henry Asquith
    Member of Parliament (1886-1918,1920-24)
    Home Secretary (1892-95)
    Chancellor of the Exchequer (1905-08)
    Prime Minister (1908-16)

Why he might be annoying:

His 'People's Budget' was the first with wealth redistribution as a stated goal (1909).
He promised to extend suffrage to women property owners if he was returned to office (1910), but reneged after the election.
He was replaced by David Lloyd-George as Prime Minister following a series of politcal and military disasters, including the Battles of Gallipoli and the Somme and the Easter Rebellion in Ireland.
He was reportedly the first Prime Minister since Pitt the Younger to address Parliament while noticeably inebriated.

Why he might not be annoying:

He expanded the Royal Navy to counter potential threats from Germany despite opposition from his fellow Liberals.
His oldest son died in battle during World War I.
In Parliament, he was nicknamed 'the sledgehammer' for his command of facts and ability to dominate a debate.
Andrew Bonar Law said, 'Asquith can make a better speech drunk than any of the rest of us can sober.'
