    Birth name was Milton Rauschenberg
    Known for his 'combines' which incorporated found objects such as a stuffed goat or his bedspread into paintings
    Works include 'Erased de Koonig Drawing' (1953), 'Automobile Tire Print' (1953), 'Bed' (1955), 'Monogram' (1959) and 'Canyon' (1959)

Why he might be annoying:

    He originally planned to be a pharmacist until he was expelled from the University of Texas for refusing to dissect a frog.
    His 'White Paintings,' which contain no image, inspired John Cage's silent composition, 4'33.
    One of his combines prompted another painter to declare, 'If this is modern art, then I quit.'
    Asked to create a portrait of gallery owner Iris Clert, he sent a telegram reading, 'This is a portrait of Iris Clert if I say so.'

Why he might not be annoying:

    He won a Grammy for designing the cover of Talking Heads' 'Speaking in Tongues.'
    He founded the non-profit foundation ROCI to sponsor cross-cultural collaborations to promote world peace.
    He was named one of ARTNews' most influential artists of the 20th century.
    He was the first living artist to appear on the cover of 'Time.'
