He had the same name as a South African tribe.
He allegedly hurled an ethnic slur at the 'Hawaii Five-O' publicist and reportedly was fired after the incident.
He struck and killed an aspiring tri-athlete with his car (1986).

He spent the last years of his life battling diabetes.
He may have been a victim of Jack Lord's hubris, at it was Lord who reportedly demanded that Zulu be fired from 'Hawaii Five-O.'
He brought pidgin English to an audience outside of Hawaii.
He could sing and be funny.
