Heir

The Resume

    (April 9, 1894-October 9, 1967)
    Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Heir to the Johns-Manville asbestos fortune
Known for his 13 marriages to 11 women

Why he might be annoying:

His shortest marriage, to Sunny Ainsworth, lasted eight hours before she headed off to Reno to file for divorce.
His second wife, Lois McCoin, said, 'Tommy never enjoyed being married. For him the fun was in the chase. I took exactly three days to realize that.'
Asked during his divorce from Anita Roddy-Eden if he had proposed to Anita's twin sister, he admitted, 'I don't know. I propose to anybody - sort of as a form of introduction.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He remained on good terms with most of his exes.
He said about his alimony payments, 'Every penny was well spent. I know some of the biggest men in the country who spent a lot more on hobbies and wound up with a lot less.'
His father's will established a trust from which Tommy could only draw interest, except that he would receive a million dollars when he got married. Since the will did not limit the payout to a first marriage, he had a financial incentive for his cycle of weddings and divorces.
