Politician

The Resume

    (April 3, 1964- )
Born in Downe, Kent, United Kingdom
Member of the European Parliament (1999 - )
Co-chairman for the Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy group
Leader and Founding Member of the UK Independence Party (Sept. 2006 - Nov. 2009, Nov. 2010 - Jul. 2016)
Resigned as leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party (4 July, 2016)
Published his memoir, 'Fighting Bull' (2015) and 'The Purple Revolution: The Year That Changed Everything' (2015)

Why he might be annoying:

His political idol is Enoch 'Rivers of Blood' Powell.
He is consistently photographed holding beer to suggest an 'every man' image.
He brazenly campaigned for a British exit from the EU despite being a member of the European Parliament for seventeen years.
He has been accused of tax avoidance practices even while condemning bureaucrats for doing it.
He was hit by a car while leaving a pub drunk, where he had been debating the Anglo-Irish Agreement (1985).
He stayed seated when Prince Charles received a standing ovation during his 2008 visit to European Parliament.
In his memoir, he accused John Lennon of promoting a 'hateful message' with the song 'Imagine.'
He briefly accused his political rivals of tampering with his car before retracting the charge.
In a speech of his which went viral, he directly insulted his fellow Members of the European Parliament, claiming that 'virtually none of you have ever had done a proper job in your lives or worked in business or worked in trade or indeed ever created a job' (the hall erupted in riotous boos).
He was heavily criticized for claiming, shortly after the Brexit vote, that the UK had left the EU 'without having to fight, without a single bullet being fired...'
The comments resulted in Michael Wilkinson deriding him as 'unbelievably insensitive and crass' (they were made within a week of the shooting of Labour MP, Jo Marie Cox, by a Brexit supporter).
There's an old video of him and Theresa May having a heated talk-show debate over a 2013 referendum bill, which was regularly Googled when May was announced as the new British Prime Minister.

Why he might not be annoying:

He's a wit, light on his feet and a quick study.
His father was a violent alcoholic who attempted suicide.
He was ranked second in The Daily Telegraph's Top 100 most influential right-wingers poll behind Prime Minister David Cameron (Oct. 2013).
He was named 'Briton of the Year' by The London Times (2014).
Rod Liddle called him 'the most important British politician of the last decade and the most successful.'
His Parliament floor tirades have become viral YouTube candy, particularly his famous 'Who the Hell Do You Think You Are' Eurocrat rant in 2010.
He sustained only minor injuries after the two-seat plane he was riding in crashed, in 2010.
He was on the receiving end of harassment from the pilot of the aircraft, who was later found guilty of making terroristic/death threats (Dec. 2010).
Announcing his resignation, he disappointed millions, many of whom felt he was in the catbird position to be Prime Minister following David Cameron's departure.
He said in his widely covered post-Brexit speech on the EP floor: 'When I came here 17 years ago, and I said that I wanted to lead a campaign to get Britain to leave the European Union, you all laughed at me. Well I have to say, you're not laughing now are you?'
His approach and following has drawn inevitable comparisons with Donald Trump but let's be honest - in a debate on world affairs/domestic policy, Farage would SLAY.
