    His nickname was 'Shooter.'
    He had a bushy Fu Manchu mustache and sported a mullet.
    He was a heavy smoker who also had a drug addiction.
    During a comeback stint in the minor leagues, he lived in a motor home outside of the stadium.
    While in Boston, he feuded with General Manager Dan Duquette.

    He was one of the most dominating and intimidating baseball closers during the 1990s.
    He was named the Rolaids Relief Man of the Year (1994).
    He was named to three All-Star teams during his career (1993-94 and 1997).
    He was incredibly fan friendly and had absolutely no qualms about signing autographs.
    He disliked the American League after it adopted the designated hitter.
