Why was this on Comedy Central anyway?
The show spent too much time on the correspondents' antics and the back stories of the robot builders and not enough on the combat.
The hosts did not call the fights as they happened but instead recorded their comments while watching a tape weeks or months later.
The show presented stats on jabs, pins and flips even though they had nothing to do with how matches were actually scored.
The sounds from the battles were re-dubbed and enhanced.
Why Battlebots might not be annoying
Most episodes featured stuff flying around the arena.
Co-creator Trey Roski said, 'It's the only sport where a nine-year-old girl can go up against a rocket scientist or a jock and beat them.'
Jamie Hyneman and Grant Imahara of 'MythBusters' and Sims creator Will Wright were competitors.
