    Composed nine symphonies (1866-1896),' three Masses (1864, 1866 and 1868) and a Requiem (1849) and a String Quintet (1879)

Why he might be annoying:

    He had a fixation for teenage girls.
    He became famous during his lifetime and was awarded an honorary doctorate of philosophy by Vienna University (1891).
    He finished the first three movements of Symphony #9 by 1894, yet didn't finish it before he died.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a school teacher at his alma mater for nearly ten years.
    He was reluctant to leave to become cathedral organist at Linz.
