Why he might be annoying:

    He waged war against the Mamluks of Egypt and even the Chagatai Khanate.
    His wife Kökechin was originally betrothed to Ghazan’s father Arghun, but because he was murdered, she got betrothed to his son instead.
    He still practiced Mongol shamanism even after his conversion to Islam.

    He brought reforms to his state by standardizing the currency.
    He was tolerant of other religions.
    His frequent contact with European nations resulted in many 14th century children named after Mongol rulers.
    He helped redeem Mongol slave boys who were sold to slavery by their own parents.
