    (January 8, 1951- )

Sentenced to four months in prison and fined $100,000 for lying about his involvement with Pellicano (September 24, 2007)
Upon sentencing withdrew his plea and stated F.B.I. and prosecuters didn't follow proper guidelines

Why he might be annoying:

He has been thrice married, twice divorced.
He directed more than 200 TV commercials before his feature film debut.
Films he has been offered to direct and passed on include 'Commando (1985),' 'Predator 2 (1990)' and 'Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993).'
He remade two of Norman Jewison's films: 'The Thomas Crown Affair (1968)' and 'Rollerball (1975).'
He directed four actors to Golden Razzie nominations: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lorraine Bracco, Rebecca Romijn and Austin O'Brien.
His second ex-wife, film producer Donna Dubrow, filed a lawsuit against him in July 2006 for invasion of privacy (the suit was eventually dismissed).

Why he might not be annoying:

He attended the prestigious Juilliard School before enrolling at the AFI Conservatory, graduating with an M.F.A.
His father is an opera singer and has been cast in bit roles in several of his movies.
His feature film debut, 1986's 'Nomads,' was also screen written by him.
His next three films, 'Predator,' 'Die Hard' and 'The Hunt for Red October' were extremely profitable action movie goldmines.
He turned down 'Predator 2' to direct 'The Hunt for Red October,' which on a $30 million budget grossed over $200 million at the box office.
On making movies, he quoted, 'You take it one step at a time and the basic rule is to work on movies you would like to go see because it takes too long and it's too hard to work on a project for somebody else just because it's a job. When it's four in the morning and you've been working 18 hours a day for 10 months straight you had better care about the film, otherwise you couldn't put out the way you have to. To do it well you don't have any other life, so it better be something you enjoy.'
