Why she might be annoying:

    She got pregnant at age 15.
    She broke the band up in 1976, only to reform it in 1978.
    She canceled a 1983 tour and fired the band's manager.
    She struggles with her weight.
    She experimented with drugs.
    She became an alcoholic.
    She smoked.
    Countless line-up changes caused her to dissolve the Motels in 1987 and forge an unaccomplished solo career.
    She reformed the band in 1998 as 'The Motels featuring Martha Davis.'
    The new band performed on the the cheesy TV show 'Hit Me Baby One More Time,' and lost (June 9, 2005).

Why she might not be annoying:

    When Martha was 18, her mom committed suicide.
    She won MTV's Best Performance in a Music Video award in 1982 for 'Only the Lonely.'
    'Only the Lonely' made the Top 10 on Billboard charts in 1982 and 'Suddenly Last Summer' made the Top 10 in 1983.
    She developed breast cancer in 1984, but it was detected early and treated successfully.
    During her solo career she managed a #8 hit in Australia with 'Don't Tell Me The Time' (1988).
    She produced and directed two short documentaries; 'Elephant Dreams (1987)' and 'Reading Between The Lines (1989).'
    Both films were nominated for Genie Awards, the main national film award in Canada.
    She's did some vocal work with Don Henley and Kim Carnes.
    She toured with Dolly Parton.
    She quit drinking, smoking and doing drugs.
    She believes the music industry is 'turning into a huge corporation that seems to care more about sales figures than music' and that MP3s are 'saving the asses of music artists.'
