He was not a very successful coach.
He was the losing quarterback in the 1940 NFL Championship game when the Bears beat the Redskins 73-0.
Why he might not be annoying
A Redskins end dropped a touchdown pass in the end zone during the 1940 NFL Championship game. When he was asked if the outcome would have been different had the pass been caught, he replied, ‘Yeah, it would have made it 73-7.'
He revolutionized football with the forward pass.
He was the last living charter member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
He holds the all time punting average record.
He is the only player to lead the league in an offensive (passing), defensive (interceptions), and special teams category (punting average).
His #33 is the only number officially retired by the Redskins.
