Why she might be annoying:

She frequently got in trouble at school by imitating her father's profanity-laden routines.
She attempted suicide twice as a teenager.
After her second attempt at age 16, her father bought her a sports car and urged her to drive it home even though she had no license.
She said of her hair, 'For years I walked around looking like a demon-possessed poodle.'
She manned a psychic hotline between early acting gigs.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her mother was encouraged by her family to put Rain up for adoption rather than deal with 'a world that wasn't ready' for biracial children.
She did not meet her father until she was four.
She said of people coming to 'Fried Chicken and Latkes' expecting the second coming of Richard Pryor, 'They better go rent a video, because this ain't my daddy's stand-up.'
'Fried Chicken and Latkes' won an NAACP Theatre Award.
After her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, she became a spokesperson and fundraiser for the disease.
