Why they might be annoying:

When Jon, Andy and Huro were the only remaining members, they recorded the critical disaster, 'Hard' and even kicked Andy out of the band after it's release.
Their planned performance for the 'Top of the Pops' was cancelled at the last minute when they refused to remove the word, 'rubbers' from their song.
When Jon and Andy recorded 'Mall,' they wanted Sara Lee to rejoin, but she had become an expensive, in-demand session musician.

Why they might not be annoying:

'Entertainment!' is known as the best underground album of the 1970's and one of the top underground albums of all time.
If it wasn't for them many indie rock bands would not be around today including Franz Ferdinand, Radio 4, The Rapture and Fugazi.
Most of the group met as students at their art school.
Dave was successful after leaving the band, joining the dance band, 'Shriekback' and helping out with well-known screamo band, 'Glassjaw.'
Jon and Andy put a new 'Gang of Four' together in the 90's and recorded two albums, even though they were not exactly good, they were given critically fair reviews.
They are known as one of the bands who successfully addressed politics with music, without going overboard.
'At Home He's a Tourist' made the UK Top 40 (1979).
They re-formed in 2004, to play a series of English gigs in 2005.
