Monarch

The Resume

    (circa 1354-circa 1416)
    Born in Wales, United Kingdom
Led a revolt against King Henry IV (1400-1412)
    Last Welsh Prince of Wales

Why he might be annoying:

The dates of his birth and death are both uncertain.
He started the rebellion in part because his neighbor, Lord Grey, had seized a disputed tract of land between their estates.
His rebellion started well but foundered due to a combination of: (1) the French withdrawing their aid; (2) Henry suppressing a revolt in Scotland, allowing him to concentrate his forces on Wales.
He rejected offers of a royal pardon from King Henry V.

Why he might not be annoying:

He attempted to take his dispute with Lord Grey to Parliament, only to be dismissed as a 'bare-footed Welshman.'
He won several battles despite being outnumbered by the English.
Despite a hefty reward for his capture, no one in Wales betrayed him to the English.
He became a popular symbol of Welsh nationalism during the 19th century 'Young Wales' movement.
