The Resume

    (September 6, 2012-May 4, 2014)
BBC TV series set in the early 1950's London about a group of female former WWII code breakers who reunite to fight crime
Starred Rachel Strirling, Julie Graham, Sophie Rundle, and Anna Maxwell Martin

Why The Bletchley Circle might be annoying:

It didn't do well in the ratings and was cancelled after only two seasons and a total of seven episodes.
The concept was a little out there.
    There was almost no action.
The photography gave it a dull look.
The men were generally made to look bad. The good guys were sexist and incompetent and all the villains were men.
The DVD package was very basic with little in the way of liner notes or extras.
There was no series finale to conclude matters.

Why The Bletchley Circle might not be annoying:

The group was based a real-life group of women who worked as codebreakers during WWII.
It realistically showed women having to work around the "real world," i.e., family, jobs to perform their amateur sleuthing.
The women were shown as real humans with real human failings and not unrealistic superwomen.
The show didn't hit you over the head with feminism.
The acting from the skilled and veteran cast was excellent!
The 1950's cars and costumes were spot on.
The ladies' work during WWII would itself have been a good idea for a television show.
