Oddity

The Resume

    (circa 1994- )
    Born in United States
    Resided in Clermont, Florida
Attended East Ridge High School in Clermont, Florida
Received media attention after sending and receiving over 35,000 cell phone text messages in one month (June 2008)

Why she might be annoying:

She preferred communicating through text messages over talking on a telephone.
She didn't think that her text messaging was excessive, yet it made Reina Hardesty's messaging amount pale in comparison.
Her behavior put her at risk for the repetitive stress injury known as 'Blackberry Thumbs.'
Her text message habit wore out at least three cell phones.
Her messaging use was high even if her phone was broken or others borrowed it.
Her parents once restricted her phone usage, but her teachers did not notice her sending messages during class.
She claimed the person she texted the most was her boyfriend.
Her father allowed her excessive text messaging, suggesting that she could have worse habits.
A reporter interviewed her by text message because she was too shy to talk on the phone.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her text messaging habit was common among children ages 13 to 17, who on average sent and received 1,742 messages monthly.
She stated she could text messages along with doing other activities because she was good at multitasking.
Her father gave her a phone without a keyboard, which reduced her messages to 14,083 in December 2008.
She changed to a cellular service provider with more cost effective messaging packages.
A reporter was impressed with her thoughtful answers and limited message shortcuts during her text message interview.
Her messaging did not interfere with her studies, a requirement for her phone privileges.
Her highest text message amount in one month is nowhere near that of Guinness World Records' report of Deepak Sharma's 182,689 SMS messages in one month.
