Why he might be annoying
He looks like Martin Short.
He never played a game in the NHL.
He was suspended by the Western Hockey League after an investigation revealed he offered improper incentives to recruit players.
He struggled to adapt his coaching style in Pittsburgh, despite having the likes of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin on the roster.
His tenure in Pittsburgh was plagued with inconsistency and sloppiness.
Why he might not be annoying
He began his coaching career at the age of 23.
He guided the Winterhawks to a successful period, as they made the Western Hockey League Finals in three consecutive seasons.
He served as Marc Crawford's lead assistant in Vancouver and Los Angeles, prior to taking the Portland job.
He worked with the Canadian National Team in various capacities for many years, prior to working with the Canucks.
