    His gray hair makes him look a lot older then he actually is.
    His North American playing career was marred by injuries.
    Despite guiding the Sharks to the franchise's first President's Trophy winning season, he watched his team get eliminated in the first round of the playoffs (2009).
    He looks pretty bored in interviews.

    He took an interest in coaching while playing in the Netherlands.
    He gradually worked his way up the coaching ranks as he started in Junior A before working his way to the NHL.
    He earned a Stanley Cup ring on Mike Babcock's coaching staff (2008).
    As of 2013, he is the winningest coach in Sharks franchise history.
