The Resume

    (July 19, 2009 BC- )
Filmed at World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada
Business operated by Richard Harrison, Rick Harrison and Corey Harrison
Features the inner workings of a pawn shop, complete with haggling and bargaining over antique items
    Aired on the History Channel

Why Pawn Stars might be annoying:

The title is an awkward pun.
The pawn shop featured on the show is hardly a typical pawn shop (it has its own in-shop mechanic and purchases exotic historical items).
They always offer only half of the value of the item, and the employees are encouraged to bilk the sellers out of more.
Their motto is, 'Make Rick money.'
The bits on the show seem staged and cheesy (all the Chumlee bashing gets old).
    It ripped off 'Antiques Roadshow.'

Why Pawn Stars might not be annoying:

It is a hit show for the History Channel.
The pawn store will not sell memorabilia from the Nazi era (although the History Channel certainly will).
It put a new spin on the 'Antiques Roadshow' concept.
It is ripped off by 'Hardcore Pawn.'
They bring in experts to value an item and give a brief explanation of its history and significance.
