Why YouTube might be annoying
Most of the videos are of poor technical quality.
Its primary audience is 12-17 year olds.
Many videos are uninteresting and are not exactly as advertised.
A number of the videos feature raw violence and jackass type stunts specifically made for them.
Some videos are copyrighted and should not be on the site.
Robert Tur filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against them (2006).
NBC forced them to remove a SNL video of Natalie Portman rapping.
CBS although citing 'mixed feelings' forced them to remove a CBS News story about an autistic high school basketball player.
They place a large arrow over the first video image so morons know where to click to begin the video.
They make it difficult but not impossible to download the videos.
The site took nine months before it was officially launched.
It restricts uploads to 10 minutes of content.
Why YouTube might not be annoying
By April 2006 they had over 11‚ million in investments and employed 50 people.
It ranked in the top 15 most popular websites (Alexa).
Although many TV networks like the YouTube concepts and appreciated the promotion, they are required by law to protect their copyrights.
Although NBC demanded the removal of certain copyright content, they promoted the Office using YouTube.
After Lockheed Martin engineer Michael De Kort went unsatisfied with his complaint to the coast guard about national security flaws and was ignored by congress he used YouTube to blow the whistle on them (August 2006).
By 2008, they hope to have a catalog of just about every music video which should be free to view.
