Her biggest pop hit, 'Let's Have a Party,' was an LP track that was not released as a single until two years later.
She met her husband bowling.
She became a born-again Christian.
She was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice as a performer without success before being inducted as an 'early influence.'

She was discovered at age fifteen after winning a high school talent show.
She toured with and dated Elvis Presley, who encouraged her to record rockabilly.
She gave Buck Owens and Roy Clark their first breaks by hiring them for her backing band.
