Why Queens might be annoying:

12 white youth attacked African-Americans in the Howard Beach area (1986). After they were found guilty, members of the Howard Beach community protested the trial and the KKK sent literature hoping to recruit new members from the area.
It is home of New York City's jail, Rikers Island.
During the '70s, many Queens residents felt they were getting the short end of the stick because they were the last to get their streets cleaned during snow storms. So when NYC Mayor Lindsey decided to run for President, Queens residents would follow him around and ruin his presidential bid.
Because of the layout of Queens, many residents have to take a bus or car to get to a subway station.
One of their neighborhoods is called Flushing.

Why Queens might not be annoying:

The 1939-40 and 1964-65 World's Fairs were held here.
The U.S. Open is held here.
The Amazin' New York Mets play at Shea Stadium.
A large greek community lives in the Astoria area.
It is the sister borough of Brooklyn.
Unlike Brooklyn, they do not brag that if they broke away from New York City they would be the fourth most populated U.S. city, but they would be.
Home of Queens College and St. John University.
The movie 'Bus to Queens' is set in Queens.
TV series 'Everyone Loves Raymond,' 'Dear John,' 'All in the Family,' 'King of Queens,' '13 Queens Boulevard' and 'Live From Queens' are set in Queens.
