    He came up with the idea of an all-wood airplane and sold Howard Hughes on the concept, resulting in the flew-only-once Spruce Goose.
    He lost $111 million on his venture into the auto industry.
    One month after his first wife died, he married her nurse.
    He liked to wear pink slacks and a pink sports jacket to work and adopted pink as a corporate color.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He revolutionized shipbuilding by introducing mass-production techniques, such as replacing rivets with welding.
    During WWII, his shipyards' average construction time for a cargo ship was 45 days.
    In a Roper Poll, he was named the civilian who had contributed the most to winning the war (1945).
    He also revolutionized the health care industry by creating the first HMO.
    He said, 'When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.'
