The Resume

    (April 28, 1916-February 20, 1993)
    Born in Cento, Italy
    Founded Automobili Lamborghini (1963)

Why he might be annoying:

Before becoming known for high-end sportscars, he mass produced tractors.
While competing in the Mille Miglia in a Fiat he had converted, he crashed into a restaurant in the town of Fiano (1948).
Due to a dispute with Giotto Bizzarrini, the ex-Ferrari engineer he had hired to design engines for his firm, the first Lamborghini went on display at the Turin Motor Show with no engine under the hood. (He reportedly had bricks placed in the engine bay so the car would sit at the proper height off the ground.)
The dispute eventually ended up in court, with Lamborghini ordered to pay the originally agreed-on fee of 4.5 million lira.
A fan of bullfighting, he named most of his car models after famous bulls or bullfighting techniques.
He sold off his auto business after the 1973 oil crisis dented the market for high performance cars.

Why he might not be annoying:

He decided to make his own luxury car after several complaints to Enzo Ferrari (including the brand's spartan interiors, clutches that wore out quickly, and poor after-sales service) were ignored.
Ferrari allegedly dismissed him with, 'Lamborghini, you may be able to drive a tractor, but you will never be able to handle a Ferrari properly.'
He convinced himself of his ability to build a better luxury car by modifying one of the Ferrari 250 GTs that he owned and outperforming stock models.
His first wife died while giving birth to his son (1947).
