    Recurring roles as Marsha Patterson on ‘The Bill Cosby Show’ (1969-71), Marie Slaughter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1971-77) and Miriam Willoughby in ‘Flo’ (1980-81)
    Appeared in the films ‘The Happiest Millionaire’ (1967), ‘Airplane!’ (1980), ‘Diamonds’ (1999) and ‘Dirty Love’ (2005)
    Frequent panelist on Match Game and ‘Chain Reaction’

Why she might be annoying:

    She has a little girl’s voice.
    She was married five times, divorced four times.
    She did TV commercials for Tareyton cigarettes.
    She was the original choice for Carol Brady in The Brady Bunch but was ultimately passed over in favor of Florence Henderson.
    On ‘Match Game,’ she often gave oddball answers that rarely matched those of the contestants, which she blamed on being dyslexic.

    She taught the twist to Fred Astaire.
    Walt Disney personally cast her in ‘The Happiest Millionaire’ and reportedly had big plans for her that, unfortunately, were derailed by his death.
    She portrayed the mother of her real-life son, actor/director John Asher, in the TV series ‘Weird Science’ (1994).
    She served on the national board of directors of the child abuse prevention non-profit Childhelp and was an executive vice president of the Dyslexia Foundation.
