He did not legally change his name until 2004, when he had been performing as 'Shecky Greene' for over half a century.
When his salary was $150,000 a week, he quipped that $125,000 of it went to his bookie.
He drove his car into the fountain in front of Caesar's Palace (1966).
Disappointingly, he later admitted that he did not actually respond to the arrival of the police by rolling down his window and announcing, 'No spray wax.'
