Why they might be annoying:

Their ages ranged from 7 to 14 when they began performing professionally.
Some bandleaders, such as Artie Shaw, resented them for taking attention away from the musicians.
They temporarily broke up when Patty decided to make solo records and Maxene and LaVerne heard about the decision from a gossip columnist (1953).
An attempt by Maxene and LaVerne to continue as a duo ended when Maxene overdosed on sleeping pills(1954).
Patty and Maxene's comeback in the nostalgic Broadway show 'Over Here' (1974) ended when Patty and her husband filed a frivolous lawsuit against the producers.

Why they might not be annoying:

They had 46 Top Ten hits, more than Elvis or the Beatles.
During World War II, they entertained soldiers in Africa and Europe, helped found the Hollywood Canteen, and were dubbed 'The Sweethearts of Armed Forces Radio' for their many appearances.
Maxene suffered a heart attack on stage (1982). After undergoing a quadruple bypass, she returned to performing.
