Why he might be annoying:

    His nickname is 'Fonzie.'
    He has an older brother named Edgar, which led to mass confusion within his own family.
    He was initially upset about being moved to the second base position, after the Mets signed Robin Ventura.
    Despite being considered a mainstay in the Mets lineup, he was unceremoniously released when the team acquired Roberto Alomar.
    His tenure with the Angels ended in controversy, as he forced his way off the team when he publicly complained about his lack of playing time.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He gradually established himself as an everyday player during his first few seasons with the team.
    Despite his initial hesitation about moving to the middle infield, he excelled as one of the top second basemen at the turn of the century.
    He hit the game-winning home run in the Wild Card tiebreaker, that allowed the Mets to make their first playoff appearance in 13 years (1999).
    His clutch performances made him a fan favorite amongst the Mets fanbase.
    He was inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame (2020).
